3/13/2015 A very nice "this is my life" update from George McFarlane, Class of 70. "Moved to Dearborn, Mi. in 1968. Graduated from Dearborn High 1970 with a grade point of 1.00. But at least I got out of there. Went to HFCC for a year and a half, but never finished. Went to training as a welder under the program offered at the time - CETA (Comprehensive Employee Training Act). Worked a a train yard (Whitehead & Kales) for five years. Moved to FOMOCO and worked there for five years. Got laid off. My Dad helped me get a job a a design job shop as a detailer. Loved it. Worked my way up to a Designer making $26.00 per hour working as an hourly worker, not salaried. If I worked any overtime it was $39.00 / hr. Discovered from a doctor that I had type 2 diabities @ 43, plus I had HBP. Times was a layoffs everywhere. Unemployment ran out. I had to do something. landed work @ a lawnmower shop. While on a weekend outing ice fishing, I found I could'nt feel if my feet (which was in insulated boots) were cold or hot. Moved with my second wife to Fla. We live here now. Doing fine at 'Heaven's Waiting Room' in Florida."
